McDouglas Browning, 81, of New Haven, entered eternal rest on June 30, 2021. He was the loving husband of Delores Browning.

Mr. Browning was born in Union, SC on November 30, 1939, a son of the late William Browning and Essie Aiken Browning.

He was a longtime member of Bible Gospel Center where he served on the ministerial staff, the Usher Board, worked as the church custodian, and sang heartily in the choir.

Prior to retiring in 1999, Mr. Browning was faithfully employed for 39 years at Sikorsky Aircraft as a Sheet Metal Operator.

In addition to his wife, he leaves to cherish his loving memories, sons, Marvin Browning and Shawn Browning (Julie); siblings, Delgracier “Fannie” Parham of Union, SC, Freddie E. Browning of New Haven, Elnora Dunlap of Columbia, SC, Rosa Kershaw of Rock Hill, SC, William Browning, Jr. and Robert Browning both of Union, SC; five grandchildren, Quinn Carter, Marvin Browning, Jr., Khalilah R. Browning, Lauren Shinelle Denise Browning and Erynne Alexzandria Browning; great grandchildren, Laila and Cody Carter; daughter in-law, Regina Browning; special sister in-law, Mildred Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Shinelle Denise Browning, and siblings, Ernest, Harold and Marion Eugene Browning and Gloria Browning Rogers.

A celebration of Mr. Browning’s life and legacy will be held Thursday, July 8, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. at Bible Gospel Center, 143 Leeder Hill Dr., Hamden. Viewing will be held at the church from 10:00-11:00 A.M. Burial will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Anyone attending the services of Mr. Browning must adhere to all COVID-19 safety precautions.
