Lorinda Elizabeth Jones Thompson entered eternal rest on Tuesday, November 30, 2021. She was born January 7, 1947 in Mt. Pleasant, NY to Elnora James and William Henry Jones.
Lorinda grew up in New Haven, CT and attended the New Haven public school system. After high school, Lorinda attended Quinnipiac University. She worked for New Haven Public schools for more than 20 years.
On June 3, 1967 she married Clarence Larry Thompson with whom she had three children.
Lorinda leaves to cherish her memory three children, Steven, Lynett, and Laura Thompson; a brother, Kent Jones; grandchildren, Chrystal, John and Antonio Collins, and Nakisha Williams; great-grandchildren, Aaleyah and Amir Aglan, London Paris and Sadé Collins; a niece Erika; and a whole host of family and friends.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. at Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St., New Haven. Viewing will be held from 10:00-11:00 A.M.

Steve, Lynette, and Laura. I love you guys and I so sorry about Lorinda she was a beautiful inside out humble person. When I lived with you guys you treated me as though I was your own. When you all are I ate and the food was delicious.

My Condolences to the whole family. I only spoke with her a few times over the years, but I could see she was a Sweet woman.
I send my sincere condolences to Lorinda’s family and friends. I counted Lorinda as one of my dear friends through junior high and high school. She was always sweet, kind and of gentle spirit. I have such fond memories of our early years, and I pray that her family’s memories will provide comfort and God will provide peace.
My deepest condolences to the entire family. I have such fond memories of Lorinda and her beautiful smile from our days together at Martin Luther King, Jr. School. Her memory will live on in all those whose lives she touched.
To Laura and family sorry for your loss of your mom she was a humble Woman when I decided too go back to ushering going to miss her coming through the side door. We love you and little cuz Nicky, The Joy of the Lord is your strength

I was briefly a fourth grade teacher at MLK in the early ’70s, Lorinda was the Chair of the parent’s association. I will remember her strong leadership and her smile. Condolences to her family.

Lorinda was one of the most kind human beings ever; never any negativity in her heart. She truly loved God.
