Mr. Leon W. Parson was born on January 31, 1954. He transitioned from this life to glory on February 2, 2022 at the Yale New Haven Hospital, New Haven, Connecticut surrounded by his family.

Leon was the son of the late Mr. Joseph Parson, Sr. and Mrs. Queen Elizabeth Parson of South Carolina.

He was reared and educated in Williamsburg County, South Carolina. Leon graduated from C. E. Murray High School in Greeleyville, South Carolina. Upon his graduation from high school he relocated to the New Haven, Connecticut area and it became his home.

He was a skillful entrepreneur and dedicated worker in several professions; however, it was at Marrakech Inc. where he spent most of his working years as a Fleet Manager. The workers at Marrakech respected and admired his ability to always get the job done.

Leon leaves to cherish his memories; two daughters: Latoria (Anthony) Hernandez , Shaquita Walton, two sons: Brandon Parson, Cameron Parson, four granddaughters: Janiya and Jayda Daniels, Aurea and Brooklyn Hernandez, stepchildren: Makeshu and Harold Turnage.

His family who remain to celebrate his life are three sisters (Geraldine Jones of Kingstree, S.C., Jean (David) Bell of Conyers, GA) and Lilly Mae-(Allen) Morant of Lanes, S.C. ; three brothers (Deacon Robert (Dawn) Parson of New Haven, CT; Deacon Larry (Vanessa) Parson of Brandon, FL and Roger (Sondra) Parson of San Antonio, TX); two aunts (Mrs. Mildred Major of Trenton, NJ and Mrs. Jessie Mae McClary); two sisters-in-law (Mrs. Shirley Parson of Lane, SC and Mrs. Yvonne Parson of Maudling, MA); and a host of uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

The family is so grateful for the caring, life-long friend, Ms. Irma Turnage and his son’s supportive, maternal grandmother, Jan Juris.

Preceding Leon in death was the mother of his two sons; Lisa Lynn, and three brothers: Joseph Parson, Jr., Mack Parson, and Roosevelt Parson.

A celebration of Mr. Leon Parson’s life will be held on Friday, February 11, 2022, at 11:00 am at Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St., New Haven. A Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 am. The burial will be in Beaverdale Cemetery, 90 Pine Rock Ave, New Haven, CT.
