Chandra Wynette Warren departed this life the morning of February 20, 2022 at the age of 52 after a long battle with diabetes.

Chandra, known to most as “Chan Woo” was born June 15, 1969 in New Haven, Connecticut. She grew up in Newhallville and was educated in the New Haven Public Schools. After graduating from James Hillhouse High School in 1987, she attended Gateway College for Culinary Arts and then Gibbs College for film.

Chandra has been described by many as a warrior with a strong, yet feisty, spirit. She remained so strong over the years through numerous operations including a double leg amputation. Chandra inspired many to keep the faith and never give up.

Before she became ill, Chandra was employed at Arden House for almost 25 years as a dietary supervisor and cook. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was a reggae music lover and a diehard fan of the New England Patriots.

Chandra leaves to cherish her memory, a loving and devoted mother, Irene Warren; two children: a son, Khamil Shamar Rangolam and a daughter, Kiyah Dasani Rangolam; two sisters, Sandra Waters (Gregory) of Swainsboro, Georgia and Farrah Hawkins (Brian) of St. Louis, Missouri; four nephews, Tyler Washington of Jersey City, New Jersey, Ashton Waters of Atlanta, Georgia, Carter Hawkins and Charles Russell both of St. Louis, Missouri; two nieces, Charlize Hawkins and Alexis Hawkins both of St. Louis, Missouri; one grandson and the love of her life, Amari Rangolam of New Haven, Connecticut; godmother, Angela Bromell; godbrother, Garreth Bromell and godsister, Shenika Brantley; one goddaughter, Shoshannah Henry; and a godson, Carlos Brown. She also leaves behind a host of adopted sisters, Brenda Edwards, Willona Ferguson, Sharocka Williams, Shelbi Freeman, Laurene Jupiter and Michelle Campbell; one very special cousin, Linda Culbreth; a nurse and friend, Magda; and a host of other relatives and friends.
