Aston Jackson, 87, of New Haven, entered eternal rest on March 26, 2022. He was the husband of Hermena Golding Jackson.

Mr. Jackson was born in St. Catherine, Jamaica on March 31, 1934, a son of the late Edgerton Jackson and Ethlin Levine.

He was employed for many years as a Sugarcane farmer and was also employed at Leon’s Bakery for over 10 years. Mr. Jackson was a longtime member of Mt. Zion Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Hamden.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Jackson leaves to cherish loving memories, his children, Michael, Desmond, Una, Karen, Lavene and Joycelyn Jackson, Pauline Jackson Mchayle and Denton Golding; twenty six grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; a brother; two sisters; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by sons, Benjamin and Lee Jackson; two daughters, Elaine and Jacqueline Jackson; one grandchild; a brother; and three sisters.

A celebration of Mr. Jackson’s life and legacy will be held Friday, April 8, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at Mt. Zion Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 335 Putnam Ave., Hamden. A viewing will be held at the church from 10:00-11:00 A.M. The burial will be in Hamden Plains Cemetery.
