Antonio Hardy born November 21, 1967, a true force of nature, transitioned into eternal rest on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at the age of 55. He was born to Audrey A. Shelton and Robert Lee Hardy and the bonus son of William Shelton. He departed from this world leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love, and unwavering devotion to his family.
Antonio was a true force of nature, much like the roar of his beloved Harley Davidson. He lived life with grit and determination, fearlessly embracing the open road. With his leather-clad exterior and rugged demeanor, he embodied the spirit of freedom and rebellion that Harley riders are known for. His love for the open road was only rivaled by his fascination for cars, which he could discuss in endless detail, sparking the interest of all who listened.
Antonio was known for living his life. He achieved every goal he set for himself. He loved the finer things in life. He took pride in building the Harley’s, detailing his cars, antique shopping and grilling. Traveling is another thing he loved doing. He saw many places of the world and definitely left his mark there. He also took pride in his line of work as a PCA for YNNH for over 15 years.
Antonio’s greatest role was that of a father, and his protective instincts knew no bounds. He was both a mentor and a friend to his children, imparting life lessons with a hearty dose of humor. His comedic side was infectious, and his children could always count on him for a well-timed joke or a witty quip to lighten any mood.
Beneath his tough exterior, Antonio was fiercely protective of his family. He would go to great lengths to ensure their safety and happiness, earning the respect and admiration of all who knew him. His love knew no bounds, and his legacy of strength and love will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
Antonio was predeceased by his parents Audrey A. Shelton and Robert Lee Hardy. Antonio is survived by his 4 children LaDonna Hardy-Wilson, Antonio Martin Hardy-Mitchell, Kareem Antione Hardy and Riley A. Roberts; one grandchild, Yasir Lamar Hardy; Stepfather, William Shelton; Two siblings Ronald Mckay and Kathleen Smith; Special nephew like a son Timothy Rogers Jr. and a host of friends and loved ones who will forever cherish the memories of his adventurous spirit, his laughter, and the indomitable love he shared with his family.
May he rest in eternal peace, forever riding on in our hearts.
A celebration of Antonio’s life and legacy will be held Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at 11:00 AM, at Varick Memorial AME Zion Church, 242 Dixwell Ave., New Haven.
