Deaconess Ann Marie Gordon entered eternal rest on Monday, October 3, 2022.

She was the second child born to Claudette Russell and Milton Manning on November 9, 1964. As a young girl, she attended Allman Town primary school and went on to Kingston Senior High School in the West Indies, Jamaica.

Ann migrated to the United States in February 1982 at the age of 18 years old with her mother and 3 siblings. She continued her education at Adelphi University to study medicine. Ann later met Roy Gordon in 1984 and relocated to West Haven, Connecticut. The couple later married in June 2001. Ann worked for many years in the medical field where she excelled in showing her care and compassion for the elderly.

Ann gave her life to the Lord at the age of 16 and in 2011 became a deacon at the Evergreen Ministry. Ann had a passion for praying for others. Her hobbies included journaling, cooking and nurturing her plants.

Ann leaves to mourn her beloved husband Deacon Roy Gordon (Honey); grandmother, Norma Russell; brothers, Aggrey Manning and his wife Michelle Manning and Sheldon Manning; a sister, Shellyann Elliston; stepchildren, Patricia Gordon, Michelle Gordon, Susan Gordon and Marc Gordon; aunts, Audrey Pryce and Mercedes Lowe; an uncle, Omar Russell; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents Claudette Russell and Milton Manning; and a brother, Dillion Elliston.

Ann will be missed, but she will forever remain in our hearts.

A celebration of Ann’s life and legacy will be held Friday, October 14, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Church on the Rock, 95 Hamilton St., New Haven. Viewing at the church from 9:00-11:00. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
