Ann Elizabeth Barnett Brown, 93, of New Haven, entered eternal rest on October 10, 2022. She was the widow of Samuel Brown.

Mrs. Brown was born in Derby, CT on April 1, 1929, a daughter of the late Willian Edward Barnett, Sr. and Frances Antrum Barnett.

She was employed for numerous years at Malley’s Department Store and later retired from Yale-New Haven Hospital as an Information Specialist.

Mrs. Brown was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Ansonia for many years and later became a member of Immanuel Missionary Baptist Church in New Haven where she served on the Fashion Show committee and was a regular attendee of Wednesday Bible Study.

She leaves to cherish loving memories, her daughters, Elaine Barnett and Patricia Brown-Edwards; sisters, Ruth Barnett, Marilyn Barnett, Harriett Hart, Elkana Barnett, Naomi Knox (William) and Pauline Barnett; brother in-law, Glenn “Mickey” Johnson (Janie); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by a brother, William Barnett, Jr.; sisters, Delores Flax and Barbara Thompson; and three grandchildren, Dennis Carr, Kyle Edwards and Denise Edwards.

A celebration of Mrs. Brown’s life and legacy will be held Monday, October 17, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St., New Haven. A viewing will be held from 10:00-11:00 A.M. The burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
