Virginia W. McKnight, 77, of West Haven, died July 2, 2018. She was the widow of Shafter McKnight, Sr.
Mrs. McKnight was born in Sumter, SC on March 30, 1941, a daughter of the late Isaac White, Sr. and Rosa Lee White.
Prior to retiring, she was employed at the Hospital of St. Raphael as a Registered Nurse.
Virginia leaves to cherish loving memories, her children, Vincent McKnight, Lisa McKnight and Michael McKnight; brothers, Isaac White, Jr. (Doreen), David White (Joanne) and Alonzo White (Renee); sisters, Josephine McQuillen, Marie Major (Randy) and Cynthia Williams (Steve); 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives friends.
She was preceded in death by a son, Shafter McKnight, Jr. and a sister, Mary White.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 885 Wintergreen Ave., Hamden. Burial will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Viewing will be held Tuesday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St., New Haven.
Rest in Peace, my loving, adorable and highly intelligent BIG sister. You will forever be remembered in our hearts and prayers. Love and miss you!
