Tito Melendez, 87, of New Haven, entered eternal rest on July 29, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Jacqueline Melendez.

Born in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, on March 24, 1937, Tito was a son of the late Manuel Melendez and Ignacia Peralta.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a Boiler Operator at Connecticut Container Corp.

In addition to his wife, Tito is survived by his children: Leonardo Melendez, Brunilda Melendez, Teresa Caporale, Jacqueline Melendez (Bruce), and Maria Melendez; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by a son, Jose Melendez.

A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Tito’s life and legacy will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Martin de Porres Church, 136 Dixwell Ave. (corner of Dixwell Ave. and Webster St.), New Haven. A viewing will be held at the church from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Beaverdale Memorial Park.
