Sallie D. Foster, 100, of West Haven, entered into eternal rest on May 6, 2016. She was the widow of Percy L. Foster.
Mrs. Foster was born in Louisburg, NC on September 15, 1915. She was a daughter of the late Henry and Louisa Dunston.
Mrs. Foster was a longtime member of Beulah Heights First Pentecostal Church where she served as a Missionary, Usher, member of the choir and Vacation Bible School, as well as numerous other auxiliaries.
She is survived by sons, Wesley Gary and Russell Dortche; a daughter, Barri Bolden; grandchildren, Lynn (Timothy) Johnson and Robb Forbes; nine great grandchildren; and a host of great-great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Louisa Forbes; brothers, Lonnie, John Henry, Edward and David Dunston; sisters, Betty Dunston, Lucy Williams, Martha Mendes and Minnie Jackson.
A celebration of Mrs. Foster’s life and legacy will be held Sunday, May 15, 2016, at 6:00 PM at Beulah Heights First Pentecostal Church, 782 Orchard St., New Haven. Viewing will be held at the church from 5:00-6:00 PM. Burial will be Monday, May 16, 2016, at 10:00 AM in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
