Mattie Mae Mazyck, age 77, of North Haven, CT, entered eternal rest on December 22, 2024.
Born on May 12, 1947, in Greeleyville, South Carolina, Mattie was the beloved daughter of the late Moses McKnight and Elease McKnight. Prior to her retirement, she dedicated many years to Pratt & Whitney Aircraft as a Machine Operator and was a proud longtime union member.
Mattie leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her son, Eldridge Mazyck; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was predeceased by her son, Andre McKnight; daughter, Gwendolyn Mazyck; her brothers, Willie Arthur Woods and Ernest McKnight; and sisters, Laurie Mae McBride, Roxie Mae Murray, Lethonia Lee, and Berthena McKnight.
Mattie’s warmth, kindness, and dedication to her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of Mattie’s life and legacy will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight Street, New Haven, CT. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM prior to the service. Burial will be private.

Mattie was a long time Friend and co- worker and I am truly saddened by her passing at such a time as this. Mattie had a free and loving spirit for enjoying life and being there for her friends and family
She really loved her family and especially her grandchildren very much. i am very thankful to God for allowing us to have the friendship we had and also being able to know her as the sweet and loving person she was. Rest in Heavenly Peace My Dear Friend you will be missed very much♥️♥️♥️🙏🙏🙏
