Loray P. Davis, 84, of New Haven, entered into eternal rest on March 27, 2016. She was the widow of Hardy Davis, Sr.
Mrs. Davis was born in Vernon, FL on November 5, 1931, a daughter of the late Jesse Potter and Lucile Carr Potter.
Prior to retirement, she was employed by the State of Connecticut Department of Developmental Services as a group home Supervisor.
Mrs. Davis is survived by a son, Hardy Davis, Jr.; daughters, Sandra Peterson and Marquitta (Lyle) Davis-Baron; brothers, Clarence (Ellawease) and Matthew (Jacqueline) Potter; sisters, Thelma Jenkins and Clydie C. Williams; stepsons, Thomas Brazzell and Anthony (Juanita) Brown, Sr.; eight grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by sisters, Helen King, Annie Marie Palmore and Florence Pyatt.
A celebration of Mrs. Davis’ life and legacy will be held Saturday, April 2, 2016, at 9:00 AM at Bethel AME Church, 255 Goffe St., New Haven. Viewing will be held at the church from 8:00-9:00 AM. Burial will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
