Lena W. “Bobbie” Dixon entered eternal rest on April 4, 2024. She was the widow of Elliott “Red” Dixon.
Ms. Dixon was born February 3, 1929, in New Haven, CT, a daughter of the late George Freeman and Alice Davis Freeman.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Sunbeam Dress Factory and Duckster Company as a Dress Maker.
She was a former member of St. Paul UAME Church in New Haven.
Ms. Dixon leaves to cherish loving memories, her son, Rodney L. Robinson (Barbara); four grandchildren, Tracie C. Brown (Troy), Terrence Freeman, Carly Freeman and Roxann L. Robinson; six great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by a son, Craig M. Freeman; and four sisters, Vera Johnson, Alice Bowen, Berdine Grant and Rosetta “Rosie” Culbreath.
A celebration of Ms. Dixon’s life and legacy will be held Thursday, April 18, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Cornerstone Christian Center, 349 Wheelers Farms Rd., Milford. A viewing will be held at the church from 9:00-10:00 a.m. The burial will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park, New Haven.

I’ve known Nana since I was 5 years old, first house I ever slept over, so many memories! So sad to hear of her passing, she was loved and will be missed! Sending love and condolences to the family!
