JoAnne Sims, 60, entered eternal rest on February 10, 2021. She was the loving wife of Jerold Sims.
JoAnne was born on May 11, 1960 in New Haven, a daughter of Betty Maxine Branham and the late George G. Branham.
She was employed at Pathfinder as a Supervisor and was previously employed at the New Haven Register.
In addition to her husband and mother, she leaves to cherish loving memories; sons, Jerold Sims, Jr. and Jerome O. Sims; a daughter, Jenelle E. Sims; brother, George G. Branham, Jr.; sisters, Mary White (George) and Angie Branham; four grandchildren; Jerold Sims, III, Jerome Sims, Jr., Mariah J. Wearing and Damari Jose-Alfred Burroughs; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A celebration of JoAnne’s life and legacy will be held Friday, February 19, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Temple Church, 285 Dixwell Ave., New Haven. A walk-through viewing will be held at the church from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Anyone attending the celebration of life, viewing or burial must adhere to any COVID-19 safety precautions.

Joanne was my supervisor at the New Haven Register. I was saddened to hear of her passing. Though I hadn’t seen her in years, I always remembered her. Joanne had a vibrant personality, with such an exuberant laugh. I enjoyed working with her. I send my deepest sympathy to her family. ? ?
