Charles Steele Walker, 80, of West Haven, was peacefully called home on October 18, 2017. He was the husband of Shirley Campbell Walker.
Mr. Walker was born on August 13, 1937, in Middletown, CT, a son of the late Penny Walker, Sr. and Lucille Anderson Walker.
Charles had been employed at the former Minasian Rug Co. for 17 years. He was later employed at Seamless Rubber Co. for 2 years and prior to retiring, was employed at Simkins Paper Mill for 29 years.
Besides his wife, he leaves to cherish his memories, his children, Keith Walker, Karen Capon, Kris Fredlaw and Shelia Dixon; a stepson, Attorney Douglas Lill; three brothers, Penny (Pat) Walker, Jr., Arthur (Mavis) Walker and Johnnie Walker; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Charles was predeceased by a brother, Ralph Anderson.
A memorial service to celebrate Mr. Walker’s life and legacy will be held Saturday, November 4, 2017, at 11:00 AM at Community Baptist Church, 143 Shelton Ave., New Haven.
