Siretha Lafatte Bromell, age 59, of New Haven, entered eternal rest on January 4, 2025. She was the cherished wife of Patrick Bromell, Sr., with whom she shared 38 beautiful years of marriage.
Born on May 25, 1965, in Montgomery, Alabama, Siretha was the beloved daughter of Jean D. Crockett and the late Roosevelt Crockett. A graduate of Eli Whitney Technical High School, she dedicated her life to serving her community and nurturing others.
Siretha was a certified daycare teacher who brought joy and care to countless children. She also worked as a receptionist at the former Leon’s Bakery for 10 years and most recently served as a dispatcher for the City of New Haven Police Department, where she worked for three years until her health started to decline. Through her years of medical challenges Siretha remained positive and hopeful. Her warmth and kindness touched everyone who knew her.
Siretha leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion to her family, including her husband, Patrick; mother, Jean; her two sons, Patrick Jr. and Breyon; her sisters, Rosita, Lauriel, and Sandra, her brother, Demetrius; and her mother-in-love Helen Floyd Bromell. She will also be deeply missed by a large and loving extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and dear friends.
She was predeceased by her sister, Alveria.
Siretha will forever remain in our hearts as a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Her legacy of compassion, strength, and love will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
A celebration of Siretha’s life and legacy will be held Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight Street, New Haven, followed by the burial in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Family and friends may view from 10:00-11:00 A.M.
