Eleanor Kelly, 79, of New Haven, entered eternal rest on May 22, 2024. She was the beloved wife of Roosevelt Kelly.
Mrs. Kelly was born in Bolivia, NC on June 22, 1944, daughter of the late Norfolk Monroe, Sr. and Beulah Galloway Monroe.
She was employed for many years at the former CHCP in the Records Department and had also been employed at the Dixwell Q-House.
Mrs. Kelly was a longtime member of Ebenezer Chapel Church in New Haven.
In addition to her husband, she leaves to cherish loving memories, sons, Glenn Bellamy, Gregory Bellamy and Gerard Bellamy; a daughter, Shanda Kelly; fifteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; aunts, Rachel Inez Palmer and Meriam Reid; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her siblings, Robert Monroe, John Monroe, Norfolk Monroe, Jr. and Roosevelt Monroe.
A celebration of Mrs. Kelly’s life and legacy will be held Friday, May 31, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Ebenezer Chapel Church, 50 Dwight St., New Haven. A viewing will be held at the church from 10:00-11:00 a.m. The burial will be in Bolivia, NC.
