Yvonne I. Lynch, 82, of New Haven, entered eternal rest on January 12, 2024. She was the beloved wife of Leonard S.N. Lynch.
Mrs. Lynch was born in Georgetown, Guyana on November 11, 1941, a daughter of the late Jonathan Sarrabo and Ruth Hendy.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed at Yale-New Haven Hospital as a Parking Attendant.
Mrs. Lynch was a longtime parishioner of St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church in New Haven, where she was a faithful member of the choir.
In addition to her husband, she leaves to cherish loving memories, a daughter, Laurel Callens (Frank); son, Rawle Lynch (Kasia); son, Glendon Cosbert Sr. of Queens, NY; four grandchildren, Janae Callens, Sierra Callens, Rawle Lynch, Jr. and Timaya Lynch; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by a sister, Bernice Mayers.
A celebration of Mrs. Lynch’s life and legacy will be held Friday, February 2, 2024, at 10:00 AM, at St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, 1230 Townsend Ave., New Haven. The viewing will be held at the church from 9:00-10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, 769 Ella T. Grasso Blvd., New Haven.
