Cemal H. Lassiter, 44, of Bristol, CT, formerly of New Haven, died on July 9, 2023. He was the husband of Sheena Lassiter.
Cemal was born in New Haven, CT on November 28, 1978, a son of Michael H. Lassiter, Sr. and Leslie Lassiter.
Cemal attended West Hills School, Eli Whitney Technical School and Hamden High School. As a teen, he enjoyed drawing and playing all sports. Once he became an adult, he enjoyed cooking and was employed as a cook at numerous restaurants. Cemal enjoyed cooking, grilling and feeding family and friends in the neighborhood. He had a passion for fishing and teaching his son how to fish. Cemal was a devoted San Francisco 49ers fan. He always expressed a great love for his wife and children, as well as the rest of his family.
In addition to his wife and parents, he leaves to cherish loving memories, a son, Cemal H. Lassiter, Jr.; daughter, Cemaya M. Lassiter, sisters, Cherrese Lassiter and Michaela Lassiter; his maternal grandmother, Dolores Daniels; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by a brother, Michael H. Lassiter, Jr.; his maternal grandfather, Charles Daniels, Sr; great grandmother, Lois Jones; paternal grandparents, Nelson and Persia Lassiter; and great grandmother, Bessie Boyd.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 22, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. at Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St. New Haven.
