Marcia Patricia Ward, passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at the age of sixty-six. She was born on July 24, 1955, in Tortola, British Virgin Islands. Marcia Patricia Ward was affectionately known to all as “Marcie.” Marcie met and married Rondad (Ronnie) Ward on April 2, 1975, and their 46 years union created two beautiful children, a son, Irvin Ward, and a daughter Sherese Ward. Marcie was a wonderful and supportive wife to her husband and a loving mother to her two children, who meant the world to her. She later became a doting grandmother to her one and only beloved Mikaya Ward.
In 1977, she relocated to New Haven, Connecticut, where she spent her time raising her family, and pursuing a fulfilling career in banking for over 30 years until her retirement. She was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church until her passing and an active member of the African Caribbean Society. Throughout her life, Marcie volunteered her time in numerous other capacities, as helping others brought her immense joy.
Marcia was pre-deceased by her parents and is survived by her husband Rondad (Ronnie) Ward, son Irvin Ward, daughter Sherese Ward and her grandson Mikaya Ward; her brother Erol Dawson (Mary) and sisters Marjorie Lettsome (Rueben) Jasmine Dawson-Cooper (Jeffery) Janice Dawson and Elrena Dawson, nieces Tanya and Tiffany Lettsome, Madison Cooper, and nephew Myles Cooper. Along with many beloved aunts, uncles; godchildren and friends.

A celebration of Mrs. Ward’s life and legacy will be held Monday, October 18, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 255 Goffe St., New Haven. The burial will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park. There will be no viewing or visitation prior to the service. Please adhere to all COVID-19 safety precautions.
