Alfred T. Boulding, of Hamden, entered eternal rest on July 9, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Charlotte Boulding.
Born in Brooklyn, NY on December 14, 1943, he was a son of the late Alfred and Anna Boulding.
Mr. Boulding retired from International Business Machines (I.B.M.) T.J.Watson Research Center as a Research Technician. Prior to I.B.M., he was employed as a Research Technician for Yale University School of Medicine.
Alfred attended Queens College in Queens, NY and was a member of Concord Baptist Church in Brooklyn, NY. In his early years, he was a member of the popular vocal group “The Precisions,” who were signed by Golden Crest Records in 1961. Affectionately called Popsey by family and friends, he will most be remembered for his willingness to assist others, his good natured personality, his many usages of “idioms,” his enjoyment of socialization with family and friends and summer vacations on Martha’s Vineyard.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Eric Boulding; daughters, Wendy Boulding and Renee Bragg (Bruce); two grandsons, Jalen and Justin Bragg; sisters, Shelley Alexander, Gloria Herb and Patricia Wade (John); brothers, Norman Boulding (Phyllis), Gary Boulding and Wayne Hodges (cousin); cherished aunts, Ruth Robertson (Milton), Madeline Harris, Joan Wickham and Brenda Brisbane; and a host of extended family and friends.
A memorial service to celebrate to Mr. Boulding’s life and legacy will be held Friday, July 14, 2017, at 2:00 PM at Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St., New Haven.

Charlotte, Renee and Family- Deepest Condolences to you and Family. Thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
It is with great sorrow to hear of alfred passing. Charlotte and family please know you are in our hearts and prayers. We love you. Alfonso and Brigitte Robison
I am very sorry to hear of Al’s passing. I had the privilege of working with Al at Goodrich and UTC in Danbury CT for about 9 years. In that time, I got to know and listen to Al talk of many life experiences, which also turned into his idioms. Always upbeat and with a great sense of humor, he made work for all us around him more enjoyable. He will be missed!
Charlotte I’m so sorry for your loss. I will keep you and family in my prayers. You have my deepest sympathies at this difficult time. Love you always.
Sincerely,
Lelia

Charlotte , I was so sad to hear of the passing of Al , he was always a pleasure to see , he would stop by the shop just to chat, or get a cut but always had a smile on his face with a big hello he will be missed by all, a wonderful person , my thoughts and prayer are with you and your family I will miss him as will all who loved him .
Al had a wonderful personality and a kind, giving nature to all he encountered! I will always treasure our Vineyard memories and especially the Presidential years when you would say to Charlotte and I after hearing the helicopters, ” your man is here” and certainly not fool with our sightings all over the Island! I’m so glad we had a good time last Summer and our Happy Hour times at Lenny and Joes! You were always a wonderful host at your home and at your residence on the Vineyard! Your spirit of kindness , and porch sitting will be missed, but not forgotten!
Charlotte and family – I am so sorry for your loss. Praying for you and that God will grant you peace during this difficult time. Al was just such a genuinely nice person. That smile radiated his heart and spirit perfectly. A true example of a gentleman. He will be missed by anyone who knew him.
It is with deep regrets that Bordes and I cannot be there today. We remember my cousin “Popsie” as the “I ain’t goin” man, or another fond statement he would use is “that’s the mickey mouse stuff”. I choose to remember him as I last saw him in Martha’s Vineyard having a grand time. I loved him deerly! See you later Popsie!
I AM DEVASTED TO KNOW THAT I LOST MY WORK MATE,GOOD FRIEND AND CONFIDANT.HOWEVER I HAVE THE JOY OF KNOWING THAT AL WAS A JOYFUL AND HAPPY INDIVIDUAL,WHO MADE EVERY ONE SMILE,AND LIKE FRANK SINATRA SAID HE DID HIS WAY,ENJOYED HIS LIFE TO THE FULLEST
REGARDLESS HE WILL BE MISSED.MRS CHARLOTTE PLEASE KNOW YOU ARE IN MY HEART,THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS
