Brenda Lee McClain-Carr departed this life on her Heavenly flight on Monday, June 13, 2016.
Brenda was born on October 7, 1951 in Whiteville, NC to the late Benjamin and Addie McClain.
She graduated from Richard C Lee High School in 1970 and soon after became an employee with Yale-New Haven Hospital. She worked there for several years before transferring to Yale University, retiring in 2007.
Brenda was a member of Joy Temple Church of Christ in Prayer.
She leaves to mourn and cherish her memories, daughters; Tabitha Carr-Bell (Winston) and Michelle Moore (Terrell Ladson); grandchildren, Asia Currie and Jaquan Toles; a great-granddaughter, Kelise Watson; brother, Wilbur McClain; a sister-in-law, Linda McClain; niece, Tamika Saxon; a nephew, Christopher Knight; her loving fiance, Fredrick Mitchell; family friend, Garfield Livermore; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Glennie Carr; and a sister, Elder Clara Louise McClain.
A celebration of Mrs. McClain-Carr’s life and legacy will be held Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 12:00 PM at Joy Temple Church of Christ in Prayer, 424 Howard Ave., New Haven. Viewing will be held at the church from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Burial will be private.
