Woodrow Wilson, 86, of Hamden, entered eternal rest on July 3, 2017. He was the husband of Helen Williams Wilson.
Mr. Wilson was born in Darlington, SC, on January 6, 1931, son of the late Edward Wilson and Bessie Patterson Wilson.
Prior to retiring, Woodrow was employed at Cedar-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, CA as a Respiratory Therapist. He served his country honorably in the Air Force for 20 years.
He was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church and was a member of Jackie Robinson Post 257 for over 20 years.
In addition to his wife, he leaves to cherish loving memories, a daughter, Vernita Wilson; brother, Kenny Wilson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by a brother, Kiel Wilson; and a sister, Alice Wilson.
A celebration of Mr. Wilson’s life and legacy will be held Monday, July 10, 2017, at 11:00 AM at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 26 Edwards St., Hamden. Viewing will be held at the church from 10:00-11:00 AM. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
