Winnie Lee Jeter, 63, of West Haven, entered into eternal rest on January 2, 2015.

Born in New Haven, CT, April 22, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Woofen and Lula Calloway Henyard.

Ms. Jeter was employed at Gladeview Healthcare Center in Old Saybrook as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant.

She is survived by daughters, Marie Gallaher (Michael) and Tamesha Jeter (Winfred); sons, James Jeter (Kia) and Jeremiah Jeter (Estelle); brothers, John and Ricky Henyard and Gregory Abraham; sisters, Karen Henyard and Lawanda Flynn; 18 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by brothers, Robert, Woofen Jr. and Gregory Henyard; a sister, Debra Henyard; and a granddaughter, Hope.

A celebration of Ms. Jeter’s life and legacy will be held Friday, January 9, 2015, at 11:00 A.M. at Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St., New Haven. Viewing will be held from 10:00-11:00 A.M. Burial will be in Hamden Plains Cemetery.
