Wesley Lamar Pruitt, 31, of New Haven, entered eternal rest on June 8, 2023.

He was born in Frederick, MD, on April 30, 1992, son of Leslie Pruitt and the late Antonio Pruitt. Wesley attended and graduated from Amity High School where he played lacrosse and football all 4 years. He obtained his certification in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning from Porter and Chester Institute.

Wesley was employed at Target as an Overnight Associate. Wesley loved music especially listening to his favorite artists Nipsey Hussle. He also loved spending time with his sisters dogs which he called his niece and nephew; Harlee and Nino. Wesley loved to laugh and skateboard as much as he could.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sister, Jessica Pruitt Frazier; brother in-law, Wilbert Frazier III; his grandfather, Alphonso Wilkins; uncle, David Wilkins; aunt, Courtney Wilkins; grandmother, Delores Pruitt; aunt, Crystal Pruitt; cousins, Ebone’ Pruitt and Amber Pruitt ; aunt, LaSandra Levy; uncle, Larry Levy; cousins, Christopher Jolly, Carlos Jolly, and Lauren Pruitt; aunt, Jennifer Reed; uncle, Michael Reed; cousins, Tiara Reed and Sean Reed; and a host of extended family and friends.

He was predeceased by his grandfather, Berley Pruitt; uncle, Frederick Pruitt; and grandmother, Ruth Wilkins.

A celebration of Wesley’s life will be held Saturday, June 17, 2023, at 9:00 A.M. at Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St., New Haven. A viewing and visitation will be held from 8:00-9:00 A.M. The burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
