Veronica J. (Graham) Foster, 92, of Hamden, entered eternal rest on March 15, 2023. She was the widow of Richard Nathaniel Foster, Sr.
Mrs. Foster was born in Eleuthera, Bahamas, on December 7, 1930, a daughter of the late Calvin Graham and Effie J. (Culmer) Graham.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed for many years as an Assistant Teacher at New Haven Child Development Program
Mrs. Foster attended Mt. Zion Seventh-Day Adventist Church and was an active member at the senior center in Hamden.
She leaves to cherish loving memories, her children, Judith Gray, Jacqueline Foster, Veronica Foster-Grant, Robert Foster (Aileen), Vincent Foster (Toni) and Eric Foster (Daisy); brothers, Leon, Winston, and Kermith Graham; her sister, Patricia Graham; 23 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; her goddaughters, Nell Montgomery and Yarri Downey; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by a son, Richard Nathaniel Foster, Jr.; brothers, Calvin and George Graham; and sisters, Mavis and Merle Graham, Hilda Cabell, Elaine Scavella and Shirley Paris.
A celebration of Mrs. Foster’s life and legacy will be held Thursday, March 23, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at Mt. Zion Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 335 Putnam Ave., Hamden. The viewing will be held at the church from 10:00-11:00 A.M. The burial will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park.

My condolences to the Foster Family my heart goes out to my longtime friends we are now on a journey to step into large shoes that prepared us to do the right thing, to love one another as she loved you all. I’ll start by saying I love everyone of you. And through you she will live on.

I was so saddened when I found out about the passing of your loved one, Mrs. Foster. She was such a very strong woman and had a heart of gold. Mrs. Foster always treated me well and always welcomed me with open arms. There are no words that I can say that will explain how much I appreciated her. She will always hold a very special place in my heart. To the family: I know there are no words that can ease the pain and grief that you are experiencing at this time.
