Dr. Raymond S. Amos, 81, of Hamden, entered into eternal rest on December 18, 2014. He was the husband of Ida Mae Amos.
Born July 23, 1933 in Camden, NJ, he was the son of the late Raymond T. and Esther Coleman Amos.
Dr. Amos was employed at CHCP and Cornell Scott Hill Health Center as a Physician’s Assistant. He was also employed at the Douglas House in New Haven and also served in the U.S. Air Force.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Raymond Jr., Loren and Dandre Amos; daughters, Valerie Amos Furlow, Sherry Amos Cassano, Tiffany Amos, and Courtney Amos Jerkins; brothers, John and Charles Amos; sisters, Catherine Shepard and Nellie Davis; 14 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A celebration of Dr. Amos’ life and legacy will be held Monday, December 29, 2014, at 10:00 A.M. at Bible Gospel Center, 143 Leeder Hill Dr., Hamden. Viewing will be held at the church from 9:00-10:00 A.M. Burial will be in State Veterans’ Cemetery, Middletown.
