Oneal Galloway, Sr. entered into eternal rest on November 11, 2015. He was the widower of Lettie James Galloway.
Mr. Galloway was born in Sumter, SC, June 6, 1946, son of the late Samuel Galloway, Sr. and Geneva Galloway.
Oneal was employed by Simkins Industries in New Haven, CT for 36 years prior to the closing of the company in 2006. He was also known as an excellent mechanic, loved baseball (Boston Red Sox) and bowling. Oneal had a very close relationship with his children, grandchildren and siblings.
He leaves to cherish his memory, a son Oneal Galloway, Jr. (Sharon Bellamy); daughters: Tiffany and Lynn Galloway; grandchildren; Gabrielle Galloway, Christian Dent, Christopher Dent, and his Side Kick, Tyler Dent; brothers, Thomas (Lillian) Galloway, Earl (Shirley) Galloway, Bobby (Colleen) Galloway and Frankie (Patrice) Galloway; sisters, Bertha (Richard) Calhoun, Annie (David) Thorpe, Lucille Mays, Lillie Sierra and Jessie (Danny) McCall; a brother-in-law, Nathaniel James; a sister-in-law, Thomasina Galloway; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Oneal was predeceased by brothers, Samuel, Jr., Cornell and Willie Galloway, and a sister, Delores Galloway.
A celebration of Mr. Galloway’s life and legacy will be held Friday, November 20, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Christian Tabernacle Baptist Church, 425 Newhall St., Hamden. Viewing will be held at the church from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Burial will be private.
