Noble A. Spruel, 89, entered eternal rest on August 12, 2025. He was the devoted husband of Sarah Lee Spruel.
Born in New Jersey on February 21, 1936, Noble was the son of the late David Spruel, Sr. and Rosa Lee Steadman Spruel. Before his retirement, he worked as a Polisher for Assa Abloy (Sargent Manufacturing).
A faithful and longtime member of Pitts Chapel UFWB Church in New Haven, Noble lived a life rooted in faith, family, and community.
In addition to his loving wife, he leaves cherished memories with his children: Stacy R. Spell (Virginia T.), Shirlene Gibbs, Sydell Ladson, Verdell Achu, and Carolyn Renee Spruel; brothers, Vincent Spruel and Carlos Meekins; sister, Lisa Thompson; grandchildren, Stacy D., Sean A., Maya D., Symphony A., Noble S., Roy, Sarah, Paul, Jovan, Marquel, Zaria, and Nicole; 14 great-grandchildren; a special niece, Brenda Charon; along with many other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends. He was predeceased by his grandchildren, Allen and Marcus, as well as his siblings, David Spruel, Jr., Stella Hannibal, Ramona Webb, and Rosa Lee Spruel.
A celebration of Noble’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Pitts Chapel UFWB Church, 64 Brewster Street, New Haven. Family and friends may view at the church from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. Burial will be private.

My sincere condolences to the family. Noble was my cousin, he and my mother Margie were raised together in Wagner, South Carolina. I have great memories of the times he came to visit and of the few visits I made to Connecticut with my mom. He will be missed. May God send his angels to guide you through this time and may your memories help you as you grieve his passing.

WE remember the friendship that was developed over the many years of Sunday morning church services and afternoon worship services at Pitts Chapel UFW Baptist Church. I was saddened to hear of Noble’s passing. I always enjoyed my visits to his home when ever I came from South Carolina. Down south he was known as Pudding. My prayer is that the family will remain strong and hold those memories in your heart.

i met Noble through his twin daughters while i was out with my daughter at a park in hamden ct. back in 1995
this chance meeting turn out to be a wonderful friendship. i was invited to their home to meet Noble. god bless you ladies and the family.
