Henry Reddish Jr., 83, of North Haven, entered into eternal rest on December 10, 2014. He was the husband of Mary V. Reddish for 58 years.
Born in Durham, NC, August 21, 1931. He was a son of the late Henry Reddish Sr. and Mary P. Reddish.
Prior to retiring, Henry was employed by Premier Roofing as the Foreman of the sheetmetal department and had also been previously employed by Sperry and Barnes Meat Packing Co.
He was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran, life member of the North Haven Association of Black Citizens and a member of Immanuel Missionary Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter Myra V. Reddish-Randall (Ricky); sons, Thaddeus (Angela) Reddish (ret. NHPD Asst. Chief) and Henry Melvin (Lillie) Tate; a brother, Billy Reddish; a sister, Louise Reddish Thorpe; grandchildren, Makieya, Elijah, Geremiah, Jahari and Diamond Randall, Twyla and Tunisia Tate; many others that loved him and called him Grandpa along with a host of other relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by a grandson, Furqaan Salahuddin; and brothers, Charles and Thomas Reddish.
A celebration of Mr. Reddish’s life and legacy will be held Thursday, December 18, 2014, at 11:00 A.M. at Immanuel Missionary Baptist Church, 1324 Chapel St., New Haven. Viewing will be held at the church from 9:00-11:00 A.M. Burial will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
