Gregory J. “Greg” Sadler, age 55, of Cheshire, CT, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2016 at Mid-State Medical Center in Meriden, CT.

Greg fell asleep in death just hours before his 56th birthday. He was born August 3, 1960 to the late Annie Sue Sadler. At the time of his death, Greg was a resident of ARC of Southington where he received assistance with his daily living needs and attended the Marrakech –Oak Tree Day program in Waterbury, CT where he assisted in the Mail Room. Greg was the light of his Grandmother Annie’s world. He enjoyed his car rides with Grandpa Bill and listening to baseball games on the radio. Greg enjoyed sitting in his big chairs- he had one at his home and another at his day program, drinking tea and relaxing on his comfortable bed while listening to the radio.

He was the sole survivor of his immediate family, yet he is survived by his great aunt, Mrs. Josephine Bowe; his legal guardian, April Bowe, both of New Haven, CT; other cousins; and his housemates, Dan and Sean.

In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by his grandparents, James and Annie Brown-Sadler; and his beloved grandpa, William Douglas.

The Bowe family wishes to thank the staff members of both ARC of Southington and Marrakech- Oak Tree Day Program; and his former DDS case manager, Susan Murphy for the care provided so Greg could sustain a quality of life even though he had an intellectual disability. A heartfelt thanks to Malynda, Brian, Sandy L., Sandy A., Carolyn and Nate for the support extended to Greg and April during his brief illness.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Graveside service on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 10:30 AM at Beaverdale Memorial Park, 90 Pine Rock Ave., New Haven.
