Florence Hembry, 83, of Norwalk, formerly of New Haven, departed this life September 1, 2014.
Born in Greenville, NC, September 16, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Sam Hembry and Martha Johnson Hembry.
Prior to retiring, she was employed at the former SNET Co.
Ms. Hembry is survived by grandchildren, Lemont and Lea Edmondson; three great grandchildren; sister in-law, Lola Johnson; cherished nieces, Roni De Luz, Jamie Harper (James), Carolyn Johnson and Lenora Robinson (Larry); and a cherished nephew, James Johnson.
She was predeceased by a son, Gerald Black; and a brother, Jimmie Johnson.
A memorial service will be held Monday, September 22, 2014, at 6:00 P.M. at Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St., New Haven.
