Ellsworth Lindsey, 79, of New Haven, entered into eternal rest on January 5, 2015.
Born in New Haven, CT, April 21, 1935, he was the son of the late Ellis and Alyce Person Lindsey.
Mr. Lindsey had worked many years at Woodbridge Country Club, the former Wayside Furniture of Milford and retired as Site Manager for the Dixwell Elderly Nutrition Program. He was a parishioner of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, a member of Elks Lodge #141 and a member of the NAACP.
Mr. Lindsey is survived by a son, Glenn Lindsey; daughters, Gail, Pamela and Rene Lindsey and Colette McClendon (John); a sister, Jacqueline Booker (Carl); sister in-law, Phyllis Lindsey; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by a brother, John Lindsey.
A Requiem Mass to celebrate Mr. Lindsey’s life and legacy will be held Monday, January 12, 2015, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 111 Whalley Ave., New Haven. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00-11:00 A.M. Burial will be in Centerville Cemetery.
