Deborah Williams, 67, of New Haven, entered eternal rest on May 13, 2025.

Born on July 27, 1957, in New Haven, CT, Deborah was the beloved daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin Shuler and Elizabeth Smith Shuler. She proudly served in the U.S. Army and later worked as an Administrative Assistant at Yale University until her retirement.

Deborah’s memory will be cherished by her children, Moe Cree Barnes and Alan Benjamin Williams; her siblings, Deapria Shuler-McKnight, Latisa Shuler-Lawani, Curtis Shuler and Benjamin F. Shuler Jr. and his wife, Fely. She was preceded in death by one brother, Leon Shuler.

Deborah Williams did not waste any moment in experiencing everything this life had to offer. She traveled, spent time with family members and friends and frequently went to the Big E and Disney. Deborah Williams was always willing to help anyone she knew in her life. If you knew Deborah Williams you were truly blessed. On the wings of an angel Deborah Williams has left this place and time. However, everyone that knew and loved her will forever hold space in their hearts and minds. Deborah Williams was a mother, sister, aunt, cousin, friend and most importantly a child of God. Now, it’s time for her to return home to be with her creator.

A memorial service celebrating Deborah’s life and legacy will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Union Temple Church, 54 Platt St., New Haven.
