Always there for any family event, celebration or situation. He was one of the first ones to get to me in the hospital after my accident. He taught Danaj, a now professional driver, how to drive. Truly a funny guy. Resting now and free of pain and discomfort….he will be missed.

Thank you,Bernie for coming by to visit me and my six grandchildren, Delonta,Maurice Eric(predeceased)Khristian,Alayshia and her twin brother Kayland. You stayed with for one year before moving on, but my grandchildren never forgot (Uncle)Bernie they fondly called you,you attended my wedding to Sam and shortly afterwards married Cousin Joyce, Thank you for just being there when we needed YOU most, your Loving Cousin Leonetta Muhammad
I spent a lot of time with Uncle Bernie. He was a smart guy, a great story teller, and a motivator. I would spend weekends at his place to help him with yard work. Joyce would cook dinner, and he’d introduce me to movies like Tombstone. He was a big movie buff. Ironically, I grew up to be a screenwriter. I like to believe he had something to do with that. Thanks for the lessons, and the positive reinforcements. You’ll be missed, Uncle B.
Our beloved Uncle Bernie aka Rick O. Shay..aka Kojak. You taught us so many things about life..living..and love. Your encyclopedic memory for events big and small gave us perspective. Your relentless pursuit for connecting with April gave us back our cousin and taught perseverance. Your being there for our weddings and graduations gave us comfort and the power of family love. Your battle with the burdens of health taught us to never give in or give up until God says “its time”. We thank The Lord for Bernard Charles Scott..our beloved uncle..teacher and friend. We love you Bernie..may you rest in eternal peace.
Uncle B could light up a room and your day as soon as he made his one of a kind entrance! We will always love you and never forget all the joy you brought into our lives. Sleep well and you will forever be in our hearts..

My Dear Cousin Bernie. Thank you for always keeping us connected, and for loving on my Mom when she became ill. You were the BEST BIG COUSIN I could ever have asked for. You and my brother Ben taught me so much about life, and surviving, and I will be forever grateful. Missing you, but find some comfort in knowing that you are now free from pain and discomfort. And enjoying family gatherings once again. Sleep in Peace Dear Cousin, sleep in peace.
My Dearest Cousin Bernie. You always looked out for us, making sure we stayed connected, and informed. Thank you so much for that. My Mom loved you to pieces, you always reminded her of my brother Ben. I will never forget how you always checked in on her as her health began to fail. We will miss you much, but take comfort in knowing that you are enjoying heaven with our family that has gone on before you.
