Lenda S. Guest entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at the age of 69. She was born in Thorsby, Alabama on October 18, 1949 to the late Lucener Wright-Howard John B. Howard. She is survived by her loving husband Joseph Guest of over 50 years. From this union three children were born, Monica L. Haith (New Haven), Feticia Guest, (Bowie, MD) and Joseph H. Guest (New Haven). She also leaves two grandsons, Christopher M. Haith and Avery B. Haith, and two great-grandchildren, Averie M. Haith and Malachi H. Haith to cherish her memories.

Lenda was a graduate Wilbur Cross High School Class of 1967. She was employed by Pratt and Whitney Aircraft for approximately years. Lenda later became the co-owner along with her mother Lucener Howard of Howard’s Sausage Company, where she was employed for twenty years. Thereafter, she transitioned into a homemaker.

Lenda is survived by 5 siblings, Eddie B. Howard, Annie P. (Richard) Huckaby, Claytonia (Charles) Jenkins, Patsy D. McIver and Astoria Howard-Ridley.

Lenda was an avid foodie who enjoyed cooking as well as cooking shows. Linda loved listening to contemporary jazz and was often considered a woman with impeccable taste in clothing. Her family considered her to be a “fashionista”. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and often made new acquaintances wherever she went. She was a compassionate person and always tried to help others whenever the opportunity presented itself. She was warm and friendly and had a special way of drawing others in and making them feel comfortable. Lenda had a ‘special gift’ of connecting with others through her conversations with them. She touched the lives of so many.

Lenda was predeceased by one sister, Juanita Johnson.

She was richly loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Church of Christ, 16 Gem St., New Haven. Viewing and visitation will be held at the church from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
