Eunice Baker Royster, 94, of Bethany, departed this life October 5, 2014. She was the widow of Marshall T. Royster.

Born in New Haven, CT, March 15, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Willoughby Baker and Rachel Huggins Baker.

Prior to retiring, Mrs. Royster taught at the Yale Divinity Nursery School. She was a lifelong communicant of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.

Mrs. Royster is survived by daughters, Constance and Marsha Royster; a brother, Edward Baker; sister, Marion Green; grandchildren, Michelle, Jason and AveryRose; great grandchildren, Olivia and Cierra; and a host of relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by a brother, Maxwell “Moxie” Baker; and sisters, Olive Moales, Judge Constance Baker Motley, Edna Carnegie and Cynthia Archie.

A Requiem Mass to celebrate Mrs. Royster’s life and legacy will be held Saturday, October 11, 2014, at 9:00 A.M. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 111 Whalley Ave., New Haven. Viewing will be held at the church from 8:00-9:00 A.M. Burial will be in Hamden Plains Cemetery.
