Betty Kathleen Petaway Eubanks Woods Gallentine, 87, of Guilford, entered eternal rest on December 10, 2016. She was the wife of Howard Gallentine.
Born in New Haven, CT, October 7, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Annie Petaway. Her family history includes lineage to New Bern, NC.
Prior to Betty retiring, she worked in numerous departments at Yale-New Haven Hospital, beginning in the 1950’s.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Stephanie Woods Cox Hyman (Milton); sons, Pierre Eubanks and Edward Woods; several grandchildren; great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her grandfather, Jordan Petaway (Lavinia); brother, Charles Roger Skinner; a sister, Doris Ann Burton; and uncles, Richard, Harry and Junius Petaway.
A celebration of Betty’s life and legacy will be held Saturday, December 17, 2016, at 11:00 AM at Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St., New Haven. Viewing will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM. Burial will be private.
